12-14 / An explanation.

Hello, all! Seeing as this club is brand new, I think it'd be in my best interest to give some kind of introduction to you all, yes? Well, I'm going to, even if you were going to answer "no" to that question. It's called rhetorical.

So, let me start with the basic idea behind this whole thing. I [ ~Cerulesta ] have been a long-time fan of a considerable amount of characters in a variety of movies, games, animes, mangas, what-have-you. Over time, however, I began to notice a trend -- I never liked the main characters best. No, it was always the sub-characters, the one-liners, the people who hardly affected the story at all... or, at the very least, weren't the complete and total center of attention. I would scour the Internet in search of artwork, stories and other goodies regarding these characters, but every time I came up empty-handed. And I know I'm not alone.

Those minor characters are out there for a reason, right? Without them, stories wouldn't have that flow, that kick we all like. Sometimes it just so happens that the subordinates are that much more captivating than the protagonists, and what do we get when we want fanart and fanfiction of them? Next to nothing, of course.

To fix this irritating problem, I decided to create this club for people like me -- who find themselves in the awkward situation of liking underfanned, underrated, minor, or downright insignificant characters. I want this to be a place where everyone can share art and enjoy meeting other Deviants who are a lot like them in certain respects. And hell, you never know... you might even encounter someone who actually likes the same character you do.

+ Joining and Submission +

If you'd like to become a member of the Forgotten Association or submit artwork to us, please send a note directly to the club. Leaving messages on the administrator's page or the club's page won't do you any good; even if I do notice them, they'll be ignored.

The only requirements for joining are that you like at least one character that could be considered "minor". They can come from a popular fandom, OR any (more or less) important character in a lesser-known fandom -- so long as they're lacking in the love department, I could care less.

GOOD EXAMPLES (and my personal favorites):
- Loz, the least-liked villain in the very popular movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
- Zed, an incompetant, egotistical baddie from the old Playstation game Wild ARMs.
- Keith, a voice actor-less (ouch) mafioso from the new, somewhat unknown anime Baccano!.
- Onyx, a hot-tempered king from the vastly underrated game Odin Sphere.

BAD EXAMPLES:
- Cloud, the main hero from the staple of all RPGs, Final Fantasy VII.
- Hiruma, a scheming devil and football team captain in the manga Eyeshield 21.
- Zelos, a flirtatious pervert in the well-known game Tales of Symphonia.
- Light (Raito), a genius master of an unholy book in the manga Death Note.

Hopefully those examples, if you know even a few of them, will give you a proper idea of what's accepted in the club. To join, you don't have to name off the character(s) you like; no proof is required to simply sign up -- I'll trust you on the basis that you want to be a member.

On the other hand, TO POST ART you will need the following:

1. The character or characters' name(s).
2. The fandom(s) they hail from.
3. Their role in said fandom(s).

I don't do this to be a nazi or to be overly critical; the truth of the matter is that there's only one of me, and I don't know every character from every series ever made. If you give me the information in some way, shape or form to the best of your ability, that's as much as I'll ever ask of you. Don't worry -- I'm not going to be picky about it. Chances are I'll accept anything you have to offer; quality isn't a factor at all. We're in this for the merit of it. ^^
